ABOUT

As a filmmaker and DoP Laura specializes in filming intimate and dramatic stories, portraying human narratives in a cinematic style. 

Laura has won a number of awards, most recently nominated for a Grierson for Tigers: Hunting the Traffickers (BBC), as well as working on projects that have been recognised by Emmy as well as BAFTA.

As a Director and lighting DoP Laura has extensive experience creating studio grade lighting and multi-camera master interview set ups in studio as well as in the field. As a seasoned DoP adept at working on prime lenses, she is also confident working alone or in a small team, essential on projects that require an independent filmmaker to operate in dangerous or sensitive scenarios. Laura aims to bring high end cinematic quality filming to the most extreme and often dangerous situations,  marrying her experience as a feature documentary Director and DoP with years of experience in the field as a journalist.

Laura has considerable experience working in hostile environments and war zones and has filmed in over 100 countries worldwide. Her Feature Documentary projects cover a range of sensitive subjects ranging from the battleground in conservation in TIGERS: HUNTING THE TRAFFICKERS (BBC), filming civil unrest and the unfolding Covid Pandemic in CONVERGENCE (NETFLIX) or in conflict or disaster zones in THE CAJUN NAVY (DISCOVERY). Laura’s journalistic experience is evident in current affairs films for C4 about the Iraqi war, the Libyan civil war and international wildlife crime for Unreported World (Channel 4). She has covered a breadth of subject matter from international criminal networks in THE TRAFFICKERS (NETFLIX) to global politics in ANDREW MARR'S MEGACITIES (BBC1) and UNREPORTED WORLD (C4).
